Connect Family Network
There are many parent and family disability support groups that are doing good work in Ireland – but connecting with others to share concerns, keep informed and have your voice heard can prove challenging.
Inclusion Ireland, in partnership with Down Syndrome Ireland, is developing the Connect Family Network to share information with family members and family support groups around the country.
The Connect Family Network is funded by the Government of Ireland through Pobal.
Income and Supports
When a person is diagnosed with an intellectual disability and / or autism it can change how the entire family unit functions. Sometimes a parent will give up employment to care for their family member.
One of the most frequent enquiries Inclusion Ireland receives is on the topic of Making a Will, from people with intellectual disabilities and family members making their own will.

Supporting Decision-making and Consent
The Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act was signed into law in 2015 but it is not yet commenced, it has not come into effect. Here we have information on supporting decision-making while we wait for the new law to come into effect.
